I run on the best diabetes technology to stay on top of my racing game. With the t:slim X2 pump, I can easily decrease my basal rates before I get behind the wheel to avoid unsafe lows. Diabetes never stops, and because of Basal-IQ technology on my t:slim X2 insulin pump, my snowboarding adventure doesn't have to stop either.

Managing my diabetes while racing through an obstacle course is always tricky. But with the Temp Basal feature, I can reduce my basal insulin before a race, so that I don't go low. Since we started using the t:slim X2 pump, we rarely have to troubleshoot, which we were often doing before. This has allowed our daughter Lily to focus on just being a kid. The best part is that she gets to be like other kids playing outside and we have peace of mind knowing she has a reliable pump.

I love the touchscreen feature on the t:slim X2 insulin pump.

Control-IQ technology does not prevent all high and low blood glucose events. The system is designed to help reduce glucose variability, but it requires your accurate input of information, such as meals and periods of sleep or exercise. Control-IQ technology will not function as intended unless you use all system components, including your CGM, infusion sets and pump cartridges, as instructed.

Importantly, the system cannot adjust your insulin delivery if the pump is not receiving CGM readings. Please Note: Individual symptoms, situations, circumstances and results may vary.

Please consult your physician or qualified health care provider regarding your condition and appropriate medical treatment. Disconnect the infusion set from your body before flying in an aircraft without cabin pressurization or in planes used for aerobatics or combat simulation pressurized or not.

Rapid changes in altitude or gravity can affect insulin delivery and cause injury. The pump is able to reliably and securely communicate with compatible, digitally connected devices, including automated insulin dosing software, to receive, execute, and confirm commands from these devices. The pump is indicated for use in individuals 6 years of age and greater. The t:slim X2 pump with Basal-IQ technology is indicated for use in individuals 6 years of age and greater. Control-IQ technology: Control-IQ technology is intended for use with a compatible integrated continuous glucose monitor iCGM, sold separately and ACE pump to automatically increase, decrease, and suspend delivery of basal insulin based on iCGM readings and predicted glucose values.

It can also deliver correction boluses when the glucose value is predicted to exceed a predefined threshold. Control-IQ technology is intended for the management of Type 1 diabetes mellitus in persons 14 years of age and greater.

It should also not be used in patients who require less than 10 units of insulin per day or who weigh less than 55 pounds. Control-IQ technology and the t:slim X2 pump with Basal-IQ technology are not indicated for use in pregnant women, people on dialysis, or critically ill patients.

This sort of automated insulin delivery decreases lows, improves time-in-range, and reduces some of the hassle of manually managing diabetes — especially overnight. The pivotal trial study that Tandem will submit to the FDA for approval started this summer and has completed enrollment. If all goes well, Tandem expects Control-IQ to be available in summer Notably, as long as current t:slim X2 pump users have the G6, the update will only require installing the new software at home — no new pump needed.

This means working with the FDA to create a new regulatory path for pumps, which has a major focus on interoperability — i.

This mobile display smartphone app will connect to the t:slim X2 pump via Bluetooth, allowing users to view pump status and alerts on their own phone without having to pull out the pump. Based on the pictures, it seems like an Apple iPhone version will be launched first. Other potential future features include integration with diet, sleep, and exercise information, insulin dosing advice, and smartwatch integration. Users will be able to wear the t:sport pump like a patch directly on the body under clothes very short infusion set or in a pocket like a traditional tubed pump longer infusion set.

Tandem hopes to launch the pump in When a potential low is detected, the PLGS algorithm stops basal insulin delivery until blood sugar levels start to come back up; then, Basal-IQ resumes basal insulin delivery. All of this happens without any alarms, and it only adds one additional screen onto the pump. See this article for more details on how the algorithm works, the time-in-range benefits, and how to start using Basal-IQ.

The next targets for t:slim X2 launch are France, Germany, and the Netherlands, though no specific timing has been given.

All other options are no longer covered by insurance and was advised by my insurance to see by Doctor to resume shot theoropy. I'm in a rough spot right now I don't have insurance right now and running out of everything at same time as being homeless so can't afford supplies I need for my pump or insulin.

I have spent all night looking for resources for help. Please let me know how to get to get assistance for things. Thanks have a blessed day. While I was in a medicated induced coma my doctor signed me up for the Omnipod. At first I was very excited for it but I was never given the chance to research or look around. I am now stuck with insane bills that I cannot afford. I work full time and nearly all of my paycheck goes to Omnipod. This company is out to rob you.

Also the pods often "fail" and you have to call and report this to the company. If a pod fails you have to throw it away and there could be up to units of good insulin still in it. I can no longer afford it and will be returning to shots in I wrote them a letter telling them that health care in this country is no longer a luxury I can afford. I have had to change out this pump due to problems with it giving false readings when replacing old batteries with brand new ones but pump saying new battery is bad.

Pull out new battery then reinsert and pump says it is fully charged, internal battery housing problem as far as I am concerned. I got Medtronics to send new battery cover which took care of problem for awhile but then pump started acting up again. They have also had a recall on their pumps due to seal on bottom of battery housing being pushed outward! I got this pump then found out they already applied for a FDA license on two next generation pumps which have better features, like being able to go in water with one, will they replace the one I got for next generation pump, not on your life since mine is two models back!

This is my co-pay for pods. The pump just quit! The pump was still under warranty, Medtronic has done nothing to help! I asked for a new pump but nothing has happened, switching to ascu-chek Spirit! Dam Medtronic there service and caring sucks! We are trying to purchase a pump for my son. I have been advised to really look into this, that it does not seem correct. Also See for T:Slim User manual - pages. Page of Go. Show quick links.

The aim of this overview is to present the available evidence on this subject, heighten awareness within the clinical community, provide considerations for minimizing possible negative effects on patient care, and encourage the monitoring of infusion devices after exposure to radiation or electromagnetic interference.

A multidisciplinary working group reviewed the compiled evidence, and a draft of the document was sent to health professionals from various disciplines for an external review. Four reports and three manufacturer device alerts were identified that suggest a risk of pump malfunction as a result of radiation exposure. The estimated cumulative dose at which pump failure has been reported ranges from Pump relocation, pump shielding, and assessment of the pump after radiation exposure are most commonly suggested to minimize pump malfunction related to radiation exposure.

A list of additional considerations is offered for those developing institution specific policies and procedures based on the available evidence and expert consensus.

The varied and unpredictable results of radiation exposure on infusion devices suggest that additional testing should be carried out to determine the limits of dose exposure and to raise awareness around this patient safety issue. Cancer treatment is highly complex, requires collaboration among a variety of health care professionals, and utilizes a number of sophisticated treatment methods and devices.

Furthermore, increasing multimodality treatment and concurrent chemoradiotherapy protocols result in a greater incidence of patients undergoing radiation treatment while receiving continuous infusion chemotherapy.

Unfortunately, there is a paucity of published information regarding the effects of radiation on ambulatory chemotherapy infusion pumps and, conversely, the steps that should be taken to reduce patient risk.
